Beykush Winery, the most award-winning winery in Ukraine, is lying on 11-hectare plot on the Beykush peninsula of the Black Sea. It is surrounded by the sea on three sides, which works as a great natural air conditioner, softening the climate in dry years, and the wind reduces significantly the risk of fungal vine diseases. The light saltiness of the Black Sea can be tasted in Beykush wines. There are mostly French and Italian grape varieties, but also some experimental vineyards with Alvarinho, Timorasso and Tempranillo, Pinotage and local Telti-Kuruk.
Mykolaiv wine region has vineyards of 15 thousand ha. It belongs to the wider Black Sea Wine region which is made up of Odessa, Kherson and Mykolaiv itself. The climate in the region is warm in the summer and mild in the winter. Warm and moderately humid autumn enables the normal development and ripeness of grapes and dry periods before harvesting allow to obtain high-quality grapes.
