Winemaker’s notes:
Grapes were picked by hand then chilled to 15C. Delicate pressing of the grapes, fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at a low temperature for 14 days. Ageing took place in stainless steel vats for 7 months. Only 3000 bottles of this wine were made.
Characteristics:
The wine has golden colour with aromas of nutmeg, citruses and exotic fruits. The taste of the wine is harmonious with a strong citron-muscat and lemongrass flavour. Excellent balance of acidity and freshness.
Citron Magaracha:
The grape variaty Citron Magaracha/Citronniy Magaracha originates from Crimea. It is a cross between Ukrainian Early, Madeleine Angevins and a hybrid of Magarach. The skin of Citron Magaracha berry is thin and the flesh is juicy. It is a disappearing grape variety. In Frumushika-Nova winery the last old vines planted by grandfather of the winemaker were saved and multiplied in 2019. By now there are around 9500 Citron Magaracha plants in Frumushika-Nova. Citron Magaracha is a flagship grape variety in Frumushika-Nova winery.
Food pairing:
Pairs well with white fish, poultry or as an apéritif. Serving temperature: 8-10°C/46-50F.

Odesa region:
The Odesa region is one of the cradles of wine making in Ukraine. Located in the south of the country, on the shores of the Black Sea, it has favourable condition for growing grapes in almost every part of the region. Along with well-known international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the region can boast also local grapes such as Telti-Kuruk, Sukholymanskyi white, Citron Magarach (Citronny Magaracha) and Odesa Black.
